Every year I set large goals for myself to work on the entire year. I don’t believe in resolutions – to me, those are promises you make and forget about. I hold myself accountable for my goals all year long and do a halfway and final report. 🙂
This year I planned my goals knowing that I was going to be doing an IVF, which resulted in a twin pregnancy. Unfortunately we lost them at 16 weeks on May 15th, so my year was a bit of a mess. I’m still very proud of what I did accomplish, though, so here we go…
1. Continue to Work Towards My Normal Weight and Have a Healthy Pregnancy.
I gained 20 pounds with the twins – I wasn’t expecting twins at all and I was HUNGRY (you need 300 extra calories per baby each day). I was also severely limited with the activity I could do, which isn’t a good combination. After my loss, I got back to work and I’m happy to say I lost everything I put on and can end this year feeling great, prepping myself for trying again.
2. Help More People Reach Their Goals.
I’m very happy with what I was able to accomplish with this goal this year, and it will be on my list for 2014, too. Becoming a Beachbody Coach has been such an amazing experience and I have plans to make it even better this year. 🙂
3. Complete Tae-Bo PT 24/7.
I still didn’t get this done – I wanted it to be a pregnancy workout, but my doctor told me absolutely no Tae Bo. This will be on my list again for 2014.
4. Complete Brazil Butt Lift.Â
Nope, never touched this one! With my current goals, I don’t think I’ll be doing it anytime soon, but it will be on my list in the future.
5. Complete Les Mills Pump.
After my loss, I let myself grieve for the remainder of May, but I promised myself that June I would get back on track. I started Les Mills Pump and the Ease into 5K program and they both helped me so much – physically, mentally and emotionally. I LOVE Pump, it is truly one of my soulmate workouts, and I cannot wait to do it again in 2014. I proudly completed all 90 days, and I cried during my last workout, lol.
6. Walk/Run 500 Miles.
I know I didn’t make this because I was so restricted for the first half of the year, but I sure made up for it in the second half!! From June until now, I walked/ran 201.03 miles in 6 months I got about halfway to that 500 mile goal, something I’m very proud of. I don’t intend to slow down in 2014 either – this goal will stay put.
7. Participate in More Races.
Um, yes, lol. I did the Color Me Rad 5K in August and I participated in a bunch of virtual races as well, a new obsession of mine, which I love because it gives me the opportunity to participate in more runs.
I completed my first annual Tiny Angels 5K (but I ran 10K – a 5K for each of the babies we lost), a Veteran’s Day 5K, a Run for Lemons 5K supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a Be a Rockstar for Kids 5K benefitting St. Judes, The Christmas Story House 5K, and a Reindeer Run 5K.
8. Train for a 10K.
In June I redid the  Ease into 5K program and then I moved onto Bluefin Software’s Bridge to 10K program. I don’t feel like I completely nailed it yet, so this goal will go into 2014 for sure.
9. Start a Local Fit Club.
Due to my restrictions and loss, this never happened. I’m not sure if I’ll carry it into 2014, but it will definitely be a future goal of mine for sure.
