Why I Love What I Do
I signed up in September of 2011 to be a discount Beachbody Coach because of my love for Shakeology – I replaced overpriced and underwhelming lunches with it, and I knew I wanted it longterm at 25% off the retail price. By January 2012, I was actively coaching and making money helping others; by mid 2012 I had achieved the rank of Diamond, the highest rank you can achieve on your own; and by the end of 2012 I was able to close the doors on my freelance design businesses that were causing me large amounts of stress and not paying well at all. Now I coach full-time, I make good money, I have very little stress and I will never, ever look back.
The thing I love about Beachbody coaching is that it doesn’t feel like work – my motto is “help people first and benefit financially second,” and I have been very successful running my business in that way. I’ve never sold something that I didn’t think was right for my customer, and I’ve never lied about what I think about a product. I’m 100% honest with my customers and help them figure out what is right for them instead of what would work for my paycheck.
I’m able to run my coaching business full-time while still working full-time for our family businesses – I serve as the bookkeeper for our swimming pool service and the property manager for our home rental business. At times it’s busy and a little overwhelming to keep up, but I don’t feel the stress I did a year ago so I’m fine with it – I love that it keeps me on top of my time management, and some days I feel like I rule the world because of how much I can accomplish.
I’m my own boss for all of my jobs, I make my own schedule, and I love it.
Making Money with Beachbody
I won’t lie and tell you that coaching is easy money because it’s not – I put in long hours to get where I am, and I work every day (but I also get to take days off whenever I want). However, if you’re willing to put in the effort and build your business, you get to a point where you can start making your own hours, become your own boss, and maybe walk away from your current job if it’s not fulfilling for you.
I laughed when I first signed up as a coach and thought there was no way I could make a decent income coaching. My first year of coaching (2012) I surpassed my $10,000 income goal, and during my second year (2013) I quadrupled that, doubled my income for our household, and ended the year making almost $30/hour if I worked a 40 hour week (some weeks I do, some weeks I don’t)!!
My husband and I don’t worry about credit card debt anymore now that we have a stable third income. We don’t stress over surprise financial burdens – we just deal with them. One of our cats got very sick last year and needed two bladder surgeries and was hospitalized for two weeks. I was hospitalized twice for our pregnancy losses and we received a lot of bills from my treatment and stay in the hospital. We had to fund two IVF treatments. We were able to pay for our cat and getting him the treatment he needed wasn’t a question, and my medical bills were something we had to deal with but we were able to do some comfortably – to be able to say that after struggling for so many years with money is amazing. Over the past couple of years we’ve finished our house remodel (new bathroom, new carpet on the main floor, nursery for our daughter), I purchased my new vehicle, and we paid for it all in cash. I want everyone to feel this way – financial freedom is amazing!!
I work hard for every penny I earn and I get to help people – coaching with Beachbody is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done with my life so far.
I’m very willing to share everything I know and do on a regular basis with anyone who joins my team of coaches. I want everyone on my team to be as successful as I have been with my business. Every person who decides to become a coach is another opportunity for my team to reach out to more people and help end the trend of obesity in America. What Is Required of a Beachbody Coach?
There are two financial requirements of all Beachbody coaches:
$17.19/month Business Service Fee. This fee covers your coaching membership and helps support the cost of maintenance and hosting for your three websites (Beachbody, Shakeology and Ultimate Reset), as well as our back office and the Coach Relations support staff.
50 PV Points Per Month. In order to be a Beachbody Coach and properly advertise the products, you should be working to be “a product of the product.” Becoming a Coach means you believe in the products and what they do, and you should be using them and setting an example for your customers. The easiest way to do that is to drink Shakeology every day, which covers your monthly PV requirement.
That’s it. There’s no other hidden fees or surprise charges. The only thing that changes is your required PV as you advance in rank as a coach, but we can discuss that as it happens to you. Every time I’ve advanced, my sales volume has gone up and adjusting to the new PV requirement has never been an issue.
Beachbody holds all inventory so there is nothing you need to keep on hand. Customers sign up with you and purchase through your site and Beachbody takes care of getting them the goods. You’re just responsible for helping them and supporting them on their journey.
You do not need to be in the best shape of your life to be a coach – you just need to be willing to set a good example and to help motivate others. My weight has fluctuated while I’ve been a coach. I signed up when I was at my heaviest and embarrassed to tell anyone that I was starting P90X and drinking Shakeology, thinking they’d look down on me. I’ve lost 50+ pounds since I started P90X and I’m working on my next goal every single day. I share my story with others in hopes of inspiring them to do the same in their life.
I’ve shared every drop of sweat, every frustration, and every victory with my fellow coaches and challengers, and it’s been amazing. I work hard to motivate others and they motivate me right back.
What Are The Benefits of Being a Beachbody Coach?
As a Beachbody Coach, you get 25% off all Beachbody merchandise – workout programs, Shakeology and supplements, fitness equipment and gear, and the Derm Exclusive skincare line.
All coaches receive 25% commission on all orders placed through their site. When you advance to the rank of Emerald (two coaches beneath you), you get a Team Bonus added to your weekly paycheck, which is a percentage of what our team did in sales. As you advance, you also receive matching bonuses from Beachbody (those percentages increase with your rank).
We also have a wonderful program called Success Club, which tallies points for your monthly sales. Earn points and qualify for Success Club and you rack up rewards for the yearly Success Club trip in February. In 2012 it was Disney, 2013 is a cruise. There are also monthly rewards for qualifying for Success Club – personal development material and fun items, like the limited edition Shaun T Focus T25 Bobble Head.
Carl Daikeler is an awesome CEO who truly cares about Beachbody’s coaches and customers, and he’s out shaking hands and kissing babies. He doesn’t hide behind his staff, he’s out there working as hard as we are and interacting with us – and that’s what I love about this company. Some people are interested in the awesome 25% off discount, but aren’t really ready to start coaching yet…or maybe they never have an interest in coaching. That’s completely fine. My team has plenty of Discount Coaches – those who just want to enjoy their discount, participate in our groups, but don’t want to build a business.
The financial requirements for Discount Coaches are the same as Active Coaches, but beyond that there are no other requirements. All of my Discount Coaches have the same access to the resources my Active Coaches have, and if they ever want to transition into Active Coaches, I’m there to support them.
