I am a honey user and when I heard about this product, I was intrigued. One of the things that I really dislike about using honey is the stickiness – which is what inspired the creation of this product in the first place – and to have the same benefits of taste without that little flaw would be amazing.
Nektar Naturals are all natural granulated honey crystals that deliver the same taste of honey, and they are 100% natural, gluten free, and GMO free. They are available in the 6 oz. bottle they come in (pictured above) or on-the-go packets. They have no allergens but the product is produced on equipment that comes in contact with milk, eggs, soybeans, wheat, tree nuts and sesame.
They can be sprinkled on food (think cereal, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, etc.), stirred into hot and cold beverages (including teas, smoothies and even cocktails), used in the kitchen in cooking or baking (you can use them to replace sugar in recipes), or even added to plain water with lemon to provide natural electrolyte enhancement.
I’m also fully on board supporting a company that is socially and environmentally aware. From the company’s About Us page:
We strive to be a sustainable company, one that recognizes its responsibilities towards the environment, our employees and the people who make our products. This is attained in part by a conscious effort to use recycled, eco-friendly materials in the manufacturing, packaging and distribution of our products whenever possible. Furthermore to this we recognize the factors contributing to a decline in the bee population in the United States and the dangers to our environment that this entails. As a company, Nektar Naturals Fine Foods supports the efforts of those working to research and stop this decline.
All of these look delicious and I’ll slowly work through them and provide my reviews here on my site. My husband and I tried a recipe included on an insert that came with my sample: Nektar Honey Crystals Baked Apple.
I have also been adding them to my oatmeal and they are delicious! Sweet and subtle with no mess.
